1. How do I sign up?
Open ToThem, enter your phone number or email, and confirm with the code we send. The Service is free during the public beta.
2. Why did I not receive the verification code?
Check spam (for email) or wait two minutes and request a new code. If the code still does not arrive, write to ilya.komichev@gmail.com from the same email or with the same phone number.
3. How do I add a contact?
When you grant ToThem access to your address book, we automatically suggest contacts who already use ToThem. You can also share your profile link from Settings → Profile.
4. Are my messages encrypted?
Messages are transmitted over TLS 1.2+ and stored encrypted at rest on our servers. End-to-end encryption is on the roadmap; until it ships, our staff has technical access to message content for moderation of reported content only. Treat ToThem as private, not as a vault for secrets that require end-to-end protection.
5. How do I delete my account?
Go to Settings → Profile → Delete account in the app. Your account enters a 30-day grace period. After that the data is removed. Full instructions: https://to-them.org/delete-account.
6. How do I report abuse?
Long-press a message or open the user's profile and tap Report. We review reports within 24 hours.
7. Which devices are supported?
iPhone and iPad on iOS 18 or later. Android client is in development. Web is currently for testing only.
8. Where is my data stored?
In the European Union, on Cloudflare R2 (media) and Fly.io PostgreSQL (text and metadata). See our Privacy Policy.
